Honestly, it's probably for the New Game Plus mode. Its a difference in approx 200 mb. So i have no clue really, i think both just open up the game normally, still peculiar. I looked it up. ACOdyssey_Plus.exe is what UPlay uses when you use their UPlay Plus subscription service.
That does require some horsepower. It seems though that AC Origins makes plenty of use of our cpu. The more threads you have, the better it is. (just run MSI Afterburner and see how stressed your cpu threads are). It's not that games have suddenly remember cpu existed. Games are getting more complex and require more power. The most modern historical time period for a mainline AC entry so far, Assassin's Creed: Syndicate takes place in the Victorian era as two Master Assassin twins arrive in London.
